BECOME A VOLUNTEER
What's Involved:
-
Cook 25 meals/portions in tin foil containers to be cook at home.
-
No dietary restrictions; cook what you love!
-
Popular choices include Cottage/Shepherd's Pie, Spaghetti Bolognese, Sausage & Mash, Casseroles, Curry, Chilli, Pasta, or Chips with a side.
Helpful Information:
-
The foil containers should have lids and measure approximately 20.5x11x5.5cm or size 6a. Please ensure that the lids are securely fastened with the shiny side down to retain maximum heat. These containers are readily available online or at discount shops.
-
To comply with Food Safety Laws, it is essential that meals are hot upon arrival at the Centre. Since we lack the facilities to reheat meals on-site, we kindly ask volunteers to keep their foil containers in the oven on low heat until they're ready to leave.
-
Our team then quickly transfers the trays into our hot boxes to keep them warm, though we typically serve around 80 meals in the first 20 minutes!!
Drop-off Details:
-
We run a rota system for cooks, so please contact us if you would like to get involved.
-
Then on the day please deliver your hot meals to the Pilgrim Centre, Swindon between 18:10-18:25.
